Bridging Gaps and Moving Forward: Our Wound Care Distribution Program Journey

In the heart of debra of America’s mission to support those battling Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB), is our Wound Care Distribution Program. With the recent relocation of our headquarters from New York to Colorado, we're not just changing our address; we're enhancing our capacity to serve and support the EB Community across the United States. But, how?

We understand the overwhelming challenges families face in managing EB. One such challenge is the lack of adequate healthcare coverage for the life-saving specialized bandages and wound care supplies needed to aid in the healing for those with EB. Our program was created to bridge the gaps and provide wound care supplies to those in need at no cost.

The move from bustling New York to the landscapes of Colorado represents a significant milestone in our organization's journey. After many years in New York, it's a leap forward, symbolizing our commitment to growth, innovation, and most importantly, to those who rely on us for essential support.

Bye Bye, Big Apple! Our bittersweet last day at the NYC Office.

Situated at a crossroads of the United States, Colorado serves as a central hub, allowing us to extend our reach with greater ease and efficiency. This means care packages will get delivered faster and relief a little quicker.

EB Wound Care Distribution ProgramTransitioning to our new headquarters is also not just about packing boxes and changing addresses; it was about forging new connections and strengthening existing ones. We've built strong relationships with leading wound care manufacturers, securing corporate donations of top-quality supplies from specialized foam dressings to ointments and gauze. This move allows us to more easily manage deliveries, and house more at our Wound Care Distribution Center in the heart of Boulder, CO. And then? We distribute them nationwide to anyone in the United States affected by EB, regardless of age or EB type.

In 2023 alone, our efforts reached over 42 states and served tiny babies to resilient adults. In fact, over 35% of recipients are over the age of 18. In total, almost 500 care packages were delivered. Our goal is to expand our reach even further, reaching every corner of the nation and serving 600 or more in 2024.

Requesting support is simple. Community members, caregivers, or clinicians can fill out our user-friendly online form or reach out to us directly via phone or email. We gather basic information to ensure precise delivery and customize care packages based on an individual’s needs.

So, reach out to us! You're not alone in this journey. We're here for you, every step of the way.

With warmth and solidarity,

Jeanette, Director of Programs, and Darian, Programs Associate
